Getting a frame people do not skip
What decides whether a vertical frame is watched: the first second, what the app draws on top of it, and where the words sit.
Leave the top and bottom empty
The app draws its own furniture over your frame - a clock and a progress bar above, a reply field and a column of buttons below. Keep about fifteen per cent clear at each end and nothing you wrote gets covered.
Say it in the first second
A vertical frame is skipped with a thumb, not closed with a decision. Whatever it is for has to be legible before anyone has thought about it: one short line, set large.
Write it for sound off
Most of these are watched muted. If the point is only in the audio then it is not in the frame - put it on screen as text even when there is a voice track.
Keep text out of the bottom right
That corner is where the buttons sit and where the hand rests. Anything placed there is covered on half the devices it is watched on, and you will never see it happen.
One frame, one job
A frame that asks a question, names a product and carries a link does none of the three. Split it and let the sequence carry the argument.
Invent the account
A made-up handle and avatar keep a mockup from turning into a screenshot of somebody real, which is the line between a teaching aid and impersonation.

How to make a fake Instagram story
- Upload a profile picture and a frame image.
- Set the account name and how long ago the story was posted.
- Type the text, then choose its style and where it sits on the frame.

- Add more frames if you want a sequence; the progress bar follows automatically.
- Press Generate and download the frame.
